Home News & Events RSE Day 2024

19th June 2024

RSE Day 2024

What is RSE Day?

RSE Day is celebrated on the last Thursday of June each year. This year, it is held on 27th June 2024.

The day celebrates excellent relationships and sex education (RSE) that promotes the wellbeing and safety of children and young people, in schools and other settings.

RSE Day gives us an opportunity to talk openly about many topics related to relationships and sex education.

Being comfortable talking about RSE has a positive impact on our lives. Conversations around RSE help to:

  • keep us safe and healthy;
  • improve our communication;
  • increase our understanding of sex, relationships and other related topics;
  • improve our confidence and wellbeing.

Our theme for RSE Day 2024 is: Embracing change.

There are lots of different changes that many of us experience throughout our lives. Some changes may only affect one person, while other changes may affect a larger group or society. Changes that affect an individual may include:

  • changes in our hobbies or interests;
  • going through physical changes such as puberty;
  • making new friends or falling out with friends;
  • learning a new skill or studying a new topic;
  • changes in our families, such as a new family member or a divorce in the family;
  • experiencing illness or the illness or death of a person we know or love;
  • changing an opinion about something;
  • moving house or moving schools.
