The school requires parents or guardians to sign a medical consent form to allow emergency medical treatment if necessary. If a pupil becomes ill during the school day parents/guardians are informed and if necessary staff will return the pupil home.
Medicine can only be administered by staff if the medication is prescribed by a doctor. Instructions must be supplied in writing giving the times and correct dosages. All medication must be handed to staff on arrival.
Crookhey Hall School has a comprehensive Health & Safety Policy which ensures the safety of all pupils, staff and visitors to school. Similarly whenever pupils engage in educational activities out of school, a full risk assessment is undertaken. Prior to departure from school all relevant planning and management aspects are checked by the Head teacher. Parents or guardians are expected to sign a consent form to enable pupils to take part in all activities.
There is at least one First Aider, and one Appointed Person in the building when school is in session, to deal with any medical emergency or accident.
